Love Wins - A Valentine's Sneak Peak

In 2011, HarperOne published one of the most controversial Christian books of our time - Rob Bell's Love Wins: A Book About Heaven, Hell, and the Faith of Every Person Who Ever Lived. To say the least, this New York Times Bestseller, provoked a great deal of response from the North American Church. After reading just a few reviews and responses to the book, you may find yourself asking: "If everybody hates this book, why was it a bestseller?" or "Why does everyone know that Bell is a universalist, except Bell himself?" or perhaps even "So was this book good or destructive for the Church?"

Well, whether you've read Love Wins or not, you are going to be seeing a two-part series of blogs in response to and reflection on this provocative piece of literature.

Part 1 - "Is Bell a Universalist? An Actual Look at the Book Itself"
Part 2 - "Is Bell Orthodox? A Theological Look at Love Wins"

Stay tuned for a voice on Bell from a Wesleyan perspective.

Have a Happy Valentine's Day!

  1. I wrote my New Testament theology paper last summer in response to this book. I read the book book in May and had some questions, so I wrote on the biblical view of hell. It was an interesting topic and I'll just say a "biblical" view of hell, as for most things, is too broad to have any meaning. I'll look forward to the posts.
